“ECO Brew” is Long Trail’s environmentally minded operating philosophy. “ECO”, an acronym for “Environmentally Conscious Operations”, is the foundation upon which the Long Trail Brewing Company has established its award winning line of craft beer.
Through ECO Brew, Long Trail aims to minimize impact on the environment by actively placing environmental considerations at the forefront of all brewing and business decisions. Long Trail has been engaged in ECO Brew initiatives for the last 20 years, continuing to raise the bar of environmental consciousness in all that is done through strong focus on:
-Reducing the overall resources consumed by the brewery
-Re-using resources to achieve their maximum potential
-Recycling no longer usable materials either onsite or in cooperation with our local community
ECO Brew in Brewing - Long Trail engages in resource conservation on a daily basis through the advanced use of thermal energy exchange systems and below average water consumption.
ECO Brew in Business - Long Trail partners with like-minded suppliers for the resources the brewery needs to operate, including the use of recycled fibers and glass in product packaging, the use of soy/vegetable based inks and recycled paper for promotional materials, and partnering with the local area to find additional use for materials that may otherwise be sent to a landfill.
