Headquartered in Rochester, New York, North American Breweries was formed in 2009 by KPS Capital Partners, LP, a private equity fund. The company owns and operates four U.S. breweries and six retail locations in New York, Vermont, California, Oregon and Washington.
The North American Breweries portfolio of brands includes: the Labatt brands; the Genesee brands; Original Honey Brown Lager and Dundee Ales & Lagers; Seagram’s Escapes; Magic Hat; Pyramid; and MacTarnahan’s, which they manufacture, import, market and sell through an independent network of wholesalers throughout the U.S. NAB also performs contract brewing of beer and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages on behalf of other companies.
North American Breweries also owns exclusive rights to import and market Labatt Blue and the Labatt family of beers. The Labatt USA products include the flagship pilsner Labatt Blue, as well as Labatt Blue Light, Labatt Blue Light Lime, Labatt Ice, Labatt Max Ice, Labatt Heritage Series, Labatt 50, Labatt Select and Labatt Blue Non-Alcoholic.
Today Labatt Blue is the best selling Canadian beer in the world and the No. 1 Canadian beer sold in the U.S. Labatt Blue Light is the No. 1 Canadian beer sold in Erie and Niagara Counties, in New York. With the demand for the Labatt family of beers growing throughout the U.S. and New York, there is no limit for the Labatt family of beers.

First Launched in 1950 by John and Hugh Labatt, the grandsons of founder John K. Labatt, to commemorate 50 years of partnership, Labatt 50 is a true ale providing a good balance of dryness, complimented by a fruity taste and a unique hop flavor. It is fermented as a true ale using special ale yeast (a strain in use at Labatt since 1933) and specially-selected North American ale hop varieties. This was Canada's best selling beer until 1979 when with the increasing popularity of lagers, it was surpassed by Blue.

Labatt Ice was introduced in 1993, and was the world’s first Ice Brewed beer. It was also the most successful new brand introduced in Canadian brewing history. Brewed using Labatt patented Ice Brewing process to provide a lighter taste profile than other higher alcohol products; Labatt Ice is a smooth, full flavored ice beer. It is a fully fermented liquid, chilled to approximately -4 degree Celsius until ice crystals are formed and removed. Then it proceeds to aging, where it matures at cold temperatures. With no preservatives, Labatt Ice uses a unique blend of specially selected North American and European aromatic hops that result in a smooth, full flavor, with a lighter taste than other high-alcohol products.
